Amid the dynamic landscape of higher education internationalization, the consistency of Universitas Muhammadiyah Gresik (UMG) in expanding its global networks and strengthening international collaboration is once again evident through its participation in the P2A Indonesia Chapter Annual Meeting 2026, hosted by Telkom University, Bandung, on April 16–17, 2026.
Passage to ASEAN (P2A) is an international collaboration network that connects higher education institutions across the Asia-Pacific region to promote academic mobility, student exchange programs, and sustainable inter-institutional partnerships. This annual forum serves as a strategic platform for members to align policy directions, reinforce partnerships, and design international programs that are responsive to global developments.
UMG’s participation in this forum is not its first, but rather part of its sustained engagement within the P2A network. This reflects the university’s commitment to fostering international relations that go beyond ceremonial involvement, focusing instead on generating tangible impacts for both institutional development and student advancement.
Carrying the theme “Strengthening Regional Mobility through Alignment, Reciprocity, and Sustainability,” this year’s meeting highlights the importance of shared vision among partners, mutual collaboration, and the long-term sustainability of academic mobility programs.
UMG was represented by the Head of the International Relations Office (IRO), Paulina, S.Pd., M.Pd., who actively participated in a series of discussions and collaborative forums throughout the event. In her statement, she emphasized that UMG’s involvement in P2A represents a strategic step toward expanding international opportunities for its academic community.
“UMG’s participation in the P2A network provides broader access to student mobility programs and international collaboration. Through this forum, we hope to further strengthen partnerships that have a direct impact on improving educational quality and enhancing students’ global readiness,” she stated.
Through this participation, UMG continues to affirm its position as an institution committed to advancing the internationalization of higher education, while opening wider and more sustainable opportunities for collaboration at both regional and global levels.
