April 25, 2022, right on Monday in the month of Ramadhan, students of the English education department at Universitas Muhammadiyah Gresik are carrying out their first day lectures on the student exchange program at Phu Xuan University, Vietnam. A total of 20 students took part in today’s lecture activities and were also attended by native students from Phu Xuan University. This lecture uses the media “Microsoft Teams” with the material “Writing” and is accompanied by a Phu Xuan university lecturer, namely mrs Truóng Thí Giang Châu or can be called Mrs Chau. He is a lecturer who will guide for the next 5 weeks. And on the first day’s agenda was the introduction of the course, break out room for student introductions and of course this introduction is different from the others because self-introductions must use power points and of course in the power point students are asked to provide personal photos and introduce in an interesting way. On this first day, students felt a new experience was obtained and they gave positive comments for the first day of lectures, here are some examples of comments given by students :
“Student Exchange is a valuable experience when you can join this program with Phu Xuan University Vietnam. I welcomed this first day very excited because on the first day it was really fun because we were able to meet lecturers and students from Phu Xuan University even though virtually. Mrs. Chua and friends from Vietnam were also very welcome with our presence. It’s just that on the first day we adapted to the use of Microsoft Teams because this is the first time we have used Microsoft Teams. In the future, I hope we can all follow this program well,” commented Risya Astrifiya.
“I think the first day of taking classes at Phu Xuan University was very enjoyable, for me, who is still in the second semester, getting an opportunity like this is very valuable. Then my friends from Phu Xuan University are also very kind and very friendly, so my friends and I feel very excited” commented Alyah Salsabila
Students are very enthusiastic on the first day of college and hopefully other student friends can be given the opportunity to take part in the program provided by the International Relations Office.
