Gresik, Nine students of Muhammadiyah University of Gresik (UMG) are members of the International KKN group. There are two programs, namely teaching assistance and research assistance which were carried out in Loei Thailand for almost 5 months. This activity will take place from 15 June to 15 October 2022 for teaching assistance, while research assistance will be held from 9 May to 9 August.
This program was welcomed by all parties, including schools, universities and students. The nine students who joined the international Community Service Program were entrusted with teaching at different levels, namely elementary and junior high schools. Likewise, our location is also different but still in the Loei region of Thailand. The following are the locations of our activities, (Ban Nonsawang, Chumchon Ban Phanokkhao, Ban Erawan School, AnubanchumchonPhukradueng School, and Jiarawanonutit 4 school, Ban Tadkha School &Chumchonwangsaphung School, Ban Non KokKha School, Ban Kaengsriphoom School).
In accordance with the name of the program, namely teaching assistance and research assistance, international Community Service students at Muhammadiyah University of Gresik certainly have the task of helping Thai students become more familiar with English vocabulary, memorize it, and know how to pronounce it correctly. The research program includes activities to assist teachers conducting research on their students, as well as for these students to understand the steps involved in assembling research articles.
The results of the activities of our program are improving the quality of nonlinear teachers by studying with students in teaching and learning activities. In addition, students’ English proficiency at partner schools has also increased. Then, increase students’ understanding of how to teach that they get during the activity. Not only schools feel helped by this program, but also international KKN students themselves also feel helped by this program. The advantages that students get in participating in this program include, conversion of articles to replace thesis and KKN (HUMAS UMG).
