Loei, Thailand — September 25, 2026 — Four months of International Internship in Thailand marked a meaningful journey for Felisia Sasmitha Rani and Fanny Nazurotul Rohma, students of the English Education Study Program at Universitas Muhammadiyah Gresik (UMG). Their internship officially came to an end through the Reflection & Conclusion Meeting 2026: Thailand and Indonesia Academic Collaboration, held at the Loei Provincial Education Office on September 25, 2026.
During their time in Loei, the two students completed their internships at different schools. Fanny Nazurotul Rohma carried out her internship at Ban Jadsan School, while Felisia Sasmitha Rani completed her program at Ban Phoem School. At their respective schools, both students were directly involved in teaching and learning activities while interacting with students and teachers in the Thai educational environment.
Throughout the four-month program, Felisia and Fanny were not only involved in teaching activities but also experienced the educational environment, culture, and student characteristics in Thailand firsthand. The program provided them with an opportunity to apply the knowledge they had gained through their studies while developing their teaching skills in an international setting.
Their four months at Ban Jadsan School and Ban Phoem School brought a wide range of experiences, from preparing and conducting lessons to interacting with students, working alongside teachers, and adapting teaching approaches to different classroom situations. Differences in language and culture also became an important part of their learning process, encouraging them to become more communicative, creative, and adaptable.
Their dedication and performance throughout the program also received appreciation from the Loei Provincial Education Office. During the closing meeting, the students’ contributions and positive attitude throughout their time in Loei were recognized by the partner institution. The appreciation became one of the memorable moments that brought their four-month journey to a meaningful close.
The Reflection & Conclusion Meeting 2026 provided an opportunity for the students and partner institutions to reflect on the internship experience while strengthening academic connections between Indonesia and Thailand. The meeting was held in a warm atmosphere, featuring reflections on the program and a certificate presentation as a form of appreciation for the participants.

For Felisia Sasmitha Rani, her internship experience at Ban Phoem School became an opportunity to learn more about education while developing her ability to adapt to a new environment.
“During my four months in Thailand, I learned many things, not only about teaching but also about adapting, communicating, and understanding people from a different cultural background. I’m truly grateful for this opportunity and for meeting so many kind people during my time in Loei.”
Meanwhile, Fanny Nazurotul Rohma, who completed her internship at Ban Jadsan School, described the experience as one of the most memorable journeys of her university life.
“I came to Thailand to gain teaching experience, but I ended up bringing home so much more than that. I learned from the students, teachers, and the environment here. Four months went by so quickly, and it feels difficult to say goodbye to the people who have become part of this journey.”
For both students, the end of the International Internship marked more than the completion of a program. Their four months in Loei became a space to learn, teach, build meaningful connections, and experience education from a different perspective.
The experience also contributed to strengthening academic connections and educational relations between Indonesia and Thailand. From Ban Jadsan School and Ban Phoem School, Felisia and Fanny returned home with more than teaching experience—they brought back appreciation, international connections, and memories that will become part of their journey as future educators.
