KATTAKURGAN-Uzbekistan, 28 April 2026 — In Kattakurgan, efforts to strengthen English language education in Uzbekistan continue to develop in a more structured and sustainable direction. Universitas Muhammadiyah Gresik (UMG) takes part in this development through a collaboration with Gryphon Educational Center, focusing on improving English language learning management.
This collaboration emphasizes the enhancement of teacher capacity, not only in language proficiency but also in instructional approaches, classroom management, and the integration of relevant educational technology.
The initiative comes amid Uzbekistan’s growing attention to foreign language education reform. English is no longer viewed merely as a subject, but as a strategic competence that provides access to global knowledge, academic mobility, and professional opportunities. In this context, English language learning is understood as an interconnected system involving teachers, instructional design, and the use of technology in the learning process.
Rector of Universitas Muhammadiyah Gresik, Prof. Dr. Khoirul Anwar, stated that the collaboration serves as a platform for exchanging experiences in developing more adaptive language education practices.
“English language learning today is not only about language skills. More importantly, it is about how learning systems are designed, how teachers are prepared, and how technology is effectively utilized to support the learning process. Through this collaboration, we aim to share best practices and strengthen our instructional approaches,” said Prof. Khoirul.
Meanwhile, Director of Gryphon Educational Center, Dr. Mavlyanov Bahromjon Avloqulovich, highlighted that the partnership contributes significantly to the development of English language teaching in Kattakurgan.
“We need teachers who are not only proficient in English but also capable of managing classrooms creatively and utilizing educational technology. This collaboration provides opportunities to improve those competencies,” he said.
The collaboration also reflects a shift in higher education internationalization, moving beyond academic mobility toward institutional capacity building. UMG and Gryphon Educational Center position this partnership as a space for sharing best practices in classroom management, teaching methodology, and teacher competency development.
In practice, the use of technology becomes an important element. Teachers are encouraged to utilize interactive learning media and digital assessment tools, while still maintaining the central role of educators in the learning process.
From Kattakurgan, this collaboration highlights that strengthening English language education requires a comprehensive ecosystem involving teachers, methodologies, technology, and interconnected educational institutions.
