Gresik – The atmosphere at Universitas Muhammadiyah Gresik (UMG) turned lively and full of excitement on Friday (October 10, 2025). Several new international students caught everyone’s attention as they appeared in traditional Middle Eastern attire while preparing for Friday Prayer at the UMG Campus Mosque.

Dressed in long robes, white turbans, and gold-toned accessories, the four students looked confident and devoted as they made their way to the mosque. Their graceful and elegant appearance drew admiration from lecturers and fellow students around the rectorate area. “Every Friday, they always appear neat and wear their traditional outfits. It brings a new and refreshing atmosphere to our campus,” said Ms. Paulina, S.Pd., M.Pd., Head of the International Relations Office (IRO) UMG, proudly. The students are from Sudan, Comoros, and Yemen. Their appearance is not only a form of respect for their religious and cultural traditions but also a true reflection of the growing international diversity within UMG’s academic environment. This moment beautifully symbolizes tolerance, brotherhood, and global spirit among students from various nations. Many local students did not miss the chance to greet them warmly or even take pictures together before the Friday Prayer began.
