Gresik — Universitas Muhammadiyah Gresik (UMG) proudly marks another milestone in its internationalization journey. This time, a group of students from the Union of the Comoros, an island nation in East Africa, has officially departed from their homeland to pursue their studies at UMG in Indonesia.
Their departure is not just an ordinary journey, but a symbol of UMG’s growing appeal on the global stage. With high spirits, the Comorian students carry great hopes of gaining knowledge, chasing their dreams, and building friendships across continents. “This journey is the beginning of our future. We want to study and, at the same time, learn about Indonesian culture,” said one of the students with optimism before departure.
This moment serves as clear evidence that UMG is not only the pride of Gresik, but also a recognized educational destination worldwide. The presence of students from Africa further adds to the list of international students who have entrusted their education to UMG. By welcoming Comorian students, UMG not only expands its academic horizons but also strengthens the bridge of friendship between nations. This multicultural atmosphere will enrich the learning experience, bring new perspectives for local students, and elevate Indonesia’s reputation on the global stage.
