Universitas Muhammadiyah Gresik (UMG) continues to strengthen its position on the international stage through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with FPT University Vietnam. The signing took place directly between the leadership of both institutions at the FPT University Vietnam campus on Monday, August 4, 2025. On this occasion, UMG was represented by Rector Prof. Dr. Khoirul Anwar, S.Pd., M.Pd., and Vice Rector I for Academic Affairs, Dr. Slamet Asari. Meanwhile, FPT University Vietnam was represented by Dr. Le Truong Tung, President of FPT University Vietnam.

The collaboration includes student exchange, international internships, joint research, as well as the development and implementation of other international programs. In his remarks, Prof. Dr. Khoirul Anwar expressed his hope that this partnership would soon be followed up with concrete and implementable programs. “International collaboration is not only about academic mobility, but also about building an educational ecosystem that is adaptive, innovative, and relevant to global challenges,” he said. He also emphasized that the agreement should not remain merely a signed document but must be followed by real actions. Meanwhile, Dr. Slamet Asari highlighted the direct impact this cooperation could have on students. “Our students will gain valuable international exposure. This is not only about studying abroad, but also about shaping a global character that is ready to contribute wherever they are,” he stated. This strategic step is expected to generate a range of joint initiatives that can respond to global challenges and strengthen UMG’s role in international education.
