June 30th, 2025, the Faculty of Agriculture at Universitas Muhammadiyah Gresik held an international seminar titled “Building Sustainable Food Systems Through Entrepreneurship.” The event took place at Hall Sang Pencerah and featured speakers from a range of national and international institutions. One of the keynote speakers was Dr. H. Abdul Hafiz Hile, President of the Muhammadiyah Association of Thailand, who delivered a presentation on sustainable cocoa plantation practices from an entrepreneurial perspective. In addition to Dr. Hafiz, five other speakers presented topics in the field of sustainable agriculture and agro-enterprise. Ujang Yusmeidi, S.P., M.Agr. spoke on policy innovation for plantation development, Agus Setiawan addressed global strategies for cocoa business development, Sutopo, S.H., S.KM., M.M. introduced sustainable aquafeed systems, Boediarso Adi P., S.P., MMA presented on inclusive value chain partnerships, and Faishal Haris, S.H., M.H. explored fertilizer business opportunities within the agro-industry sector. All sessions were moderated and delivered in an orderly and engaging manner.

The event ran smoothly as planned. It served as a strategic forum for the exchange of ideas among professionals and experts in food systems and agricultural entrepreneurship. In addition to the invited speakers, several senior high schools in Gresik were also invited, including: SMANEMA, SMAN 1 Gresik, SMANUSA, SMANUDA, SMAM 10, SMK Muhammadiyah 5 Gresik, SMAN 1 Cerme, SMAN 1 Sekaran, SMABOM, SMAM 1 Gresik, and SMAM 8 Gresik. Their attendance added academic richness to the atmosphere and served as early exposure to global agricultural issues for students. Through this event, the Faculty of Agriculture at Universitas Muhammadiyah Gresik reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening international collaboration and advancing applied knowledge in sustainable agro-innovation.
